The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico wanted a state-of-the-art display system that would give its students a realistic financial learning environment. While it was renovating its Financial Services Center, it contracted Alpha Video’s Digital Display Group (DDG) to install a state-of-the-art financial video wall and conference system, which became the cornerstone of the facility. The new system allows for a trading floor look and displays current stock pricing information, a real-time stock and news ticker, and live high definition television feeds in many different layouts on the wall.
All of the data displays are all handled by the newly released Scala InfoChannel 5 and DDG’s CastNET software, which permits University personnel to utilize user-friendly control of the wall, configuration, on/off times, etc., through a web-based interface. The system was also configured for a lecture mode that allows for media playback, PowerPoint input and document cameras to aid in classroom instruction. It is supported by CastNET and Scala InfoChannel 5 software, an RGB Spectrum MediaWall, a variety of Orion Plasmas, an Akira Mounting System and a Crestron Control touch panel.
